Tens of dogs have been rescued by several animal organizations from other cities, with the deaf local government to the large amount of protests from the whole world, the heartbroken volunteers ending up had to buy to rescue the dogs from the market. There were 2 pregnant dogs rescued by Du Yufeng, they died right after the rescue, since they’ve been suffering for so long in the tiny cages, they didn’t had any space and energy to give birth, it is so sad and shocking.
38 dogs rescued by volunteers from Guangzhou and the dogs are going to be taken to the Vet in Guangzhou today.
A lot of protests over the Weibo, dog owners taken the picture with the protest <Please don’t eat our friend, say NO to Yulin Dog Festival> with their pet.

Updates-The dogs rescued from hell-the bloody city Yulin Dog Festival-22nd June 2013
I just called Ms Du Yufeng, the founder of Guangyuan Boai Animal Rescue Center in Sichuang, who has been in Yulin since the beginning of June 2013 until yesterday. As the local Yulin government has been deaf to the strong protest to against this cruel dog festival, it still started on the 21st of June. During the last couple of days, Ms Du and her Buddhist friends from other cities have rescued 450 dogs, which they rescued by have to pay more than 1000,000 RMB, or US$20,000.
15 dogs were taken in by other volunteers from Guangzhou, and during this time more than 60 dogs passed away. They were buried with our love and respect, deep into the ground and far away from the evil people who wish to eat them.
Rescued dogs from Yulin prepared to leave this hell city
The other 390 rescued dogs were taken to the city Shangrao in Jiangxi Province, where the Buddhists have a farm that will be able to shelter the dogs. 1600km away from Yulin, they left the city with a broken heart for all of the dogs that have gone to heaven. They drove for more than 20 hours since yesterday, and arrived in Shangrao this morning.
Arrived to Shangrao safely, Ms Du Yufeng comforting the dogs after the long trip
When they opened the truck gate, they saw a new born puppy climbing to the edges of the cage to get some fresh air, and for the first time since they reached Yulin, everyone was smiling to see that a new life was able to be saved.
Ms Du was seriously injured by a dog mother who bit her when she was trying to catch her. This poor dog had just given birth to her puppies, all of whom were dead right after birth. This mother was trying to look for her puppies and it was hard to get her into the cage, but Ms Du knew that if she did not catch her then the dog would be slaughtered and eaten after they left. She bravely tried to catch the dog with both hands and legs, but her legs were severely bitten by the poor dog who had just lost all of her puppies. Ms Du had to go to the hospital to get checked up when I called her, and fainted from exhaustion after she got to the new shelter. She has worked so hard for over three weeks. Luckily the dog mother was rescued and went with the other rescued dogs to Shangrao safely.
As of right now we are calling for more volunteers across Weibo to go to Shangrao and help, since a lot of dogs are giving birth and are too weak to feed their own puppies. The Buddhist friends do not have the experience to take care of the dogs, so Ms Du Yufeng needs to stay their longer to have everything arranged. It would be great if she was able to get some help from fellow loving volunteers.
We must stop this evil dog eating festival at Yulin next year. The protests against it this year were strong but we will not stop fighting until this is stopped for good.
