UPDATE from County of Los Angeles – Department of Animal Care and Control
“Thank you to everyone who expressed care, concern, and good wishes for Ni-Hao, the stowaway kitten that survived the journey from China. DACC couldn’t be happier to see him in his forever home, with his new parents who absolutely adore him.
Thank you to everyone who expressed interest in adopting him… please remember, adoption is the only adoption! Our animal care centers have a wonderful selection of pets available for adoption. Visit your local animal care center to find your perfect pet!”
“I promise that the rest of your life will be easier than the beginning“, said Kathleen, who with her husband, adopted the cat.

This kitten survived a three-week, 6,000-mile ocean voyage from China to California. He was found in a storage container without food or water. He was discovered when workers opened the container in Compton (Los Angeles County).
The now 5-month-old kitten was first discovered on July 11. Initially he was unable to walk, see, or make any sounds.
Ni Hao or “hello” in Chinese, was placed under the care of the Carson Animal Care in Los Angeles.
