On August the 31st , 800 cats were successfully rescued in Tianjin, China. In the early morning, volunteers of Tianjin Stray Animal Rescue Group discovered a place where cat-nappers were keeping stolen cats waiting to be transported. Through social networking like Weibao, more volunteers were able to get to the location and the police were called to help rescue the cats.
The police came in the afternoon. There were 40 cages, with over 20 cats in each cage. Some cats had already died due to the horrible conditions; some had given birth to babies, all of which had died. They were cramped inside small cages without any food and water. In the end, more than 50 cats had already passed away over the whole ordeal.
After negotiations between the police and local animal quarantine officers, all of the cats were released to the volunteers. They were moved with the volunteers to a shelter, where they were switched into more than 100 larger cages with water and food. The volunteers worked tirelessly over night and over the next few days.
Our thanks and appreciation goes towards all volunteers and helpers in this rescue; it’s wonderful to see almost all of the stolen cats be saved. Thanks to the local police and animal quarantine officers and media for their support in helping the volunteers save the cats. There is still a lot of work to go; and food and medication has been donated from loving individuals for the cats.
Many thanks again to everyone involved.

Thank god they were saved. When is this barbaric trade going to end?!
Great job! Great news! Is China on the good path?
Awesome job everyone!!! You all are truly angels!! Bless you all and the cats.
Thank you!!!
I HAVE TO SAY THAT AS MUCH AS THIS RESCUE IS TRULY TRULY WONDERFUL AND THE PEOPLE HAVE ACTED IN SUCH COMPASSION, THIS COUNTRY HAS TO MAKE A STAND AND MAKE LAWS SO STRONG AND TOUGH AND THE PUNISHMENT SO HARSH THAT THE BASTARD CRUEL PEOPLE WHO DO THIS TO INNOCENT ANIMALS WILL BE DETERRED FROM EVER DOING THIS AGAIN. THIS HAS TO BE CRIMINAL AND HAS TO STOP. THERES FAR TO MUCH OF THIS CRUEL UNACCEPTABLE SLAUGHTER TO ANIMALS AND CHINA NEEDS TO PUT THE WELFARE OF ALL ANIMALS AS A PRIORITY AND THEN THEY WILL EARN THE REPUTATION OF BEING A CARING NATION.!
Right on ! ! ! !
amazing effort guys . I run an Australian cat rescue and the most we’ve ever seen in one place is 100 cats . to take 800 is nothing short of amazing , so good to everyone pulling together , Now you need to get everyone to pull together and change the laws in china so that this cant happen again ! love to you all and the kitties xxx
I am all teared up. Thank you for all you do, all the volunteers, helpers, anyone with a heart and feeling that did what you did to save the kitties…..
The killing of any and all species of animal as human food is disgraceful.
Well done to those involved in any way in this mass cat rescue in China. Thankfully these creatures will not end up on domestic or restaurant tables as food.
Well done too, to the vegetarians and vegans of the world who will not be involved in this violence against ANY innocent creature.
Indeed killing any animal for food is a disgrace
It is hard for me right now to contain myself – I am so happy for all the cats that made it and hope for the best for all of them to find loving homes!!
Thank-You for the Happy News and Congratulations to all those who Volunteered
Thank-You for the very happy news, and Thanx to all the vounteers who helped
I am glad to read that China actually does HAVE A RESCUE! How dreadful though that this trade goes on – MUST BE STOPPED! The suffering of these cats was horrendous – thank you for saving the majority! What will happen to them now? Will there be enough homes for them?
BRAVO, BRAVO, BRAVO GUYS !!

Please keep up the good work!!! Blessings on you!
thank you sooooooooooooooooooooo much i love you
GRACIAS A TODOS LOS RESCATISTAS Y COLABORADORES QUE HICIERON POSIBLE LA LIBERTAD DE ESTAS POBRES CRIATURAS. ENTRE TANTA MALDAD HAY GENTE MUY BUENA QUE AYUDA A LOS ANIMALES. UN LUGAR EN EL CIELO LOS ESTA ESPERANDO. ES UNA ESPERANZA PARA LOS GATOS Y PERROS QUE CAEN EN LAS REDES DE LOS CARNICEROS.
Wow !!!!! fantastic beyond words ,the word seems to be spreading and these wonderful wonderful people are making it happen——-blessings to them.
Blessings on the people who saved those poor innocent cats. I hope there is more of this in China and soon.
