Granny’s 150 stray cat pets perish in China fire

Over 150 stray cats sheltered by an elderly lady here were killed in a blaze at her home near the Chinese capital.

Fortunately, Ding and about 30 dogs and 50 cats survived.

Benefactors are donating money, food and other daily necessities to help her rebuild her life and take care of her pets.

Volunteers gathered at her house, after they learnt of the tragedy from newspapers and online media.

So sad ,was the fire delibeately lit by someone who objected to her having the cats?I hope not,as always when a good person try’s to help animals there are always those who ,instead of helping make it more difficult ,those who dumped more cats on her should be ashamed as they made it harder for her to care for them,they could have helped by giving donations and others by volunteering to help clean and feed them ,I am very sorry for her loss,she is a very kind good person.

OH HOW SAD HOW TERRIBLY SAD ! IF THE FIRE WAS DONE DELIBERATELY SURELY THIS WILL BE TAKEN UP BY THE POLICE. ARSON IS AN OFFENCE AND THIS KIND SAVIOUR TO THE CATS IS ONE IN A MILLION ! I WISH THERE WERE THOUSANDS MORE LIKE HER ! POOR POOR CATS, I PRAY THEY NEVER SUFFERED FOR LONG, ITS UNBEARABLE TO THINK ABOUT. I DONT KNOW IF THE LADY WAS HURT OR WHAT. CHINA HAS TO AKNOWLEDGE THAT THIS IS A SERIOUS OFFENCE TO THE CATS, BUT AS THEY DON’T HAVE LAWS TO PROTECT ANIMALS I CAN’T SEE WHAT THEY WILL DO OR INDEED IF THEY WILL EVEN BOTHER . TIME FOR CHANGE CHINA AND LOOK AFTER ANIMALS AND INTRODUCE LAWS FOR GODS SAKE !
